Title: Random Builds
Post by: Gothic on May 04, 2016, 12:04:47 PM
Man it will take years to search these forums and can,t  find a place to put this, so i,ll start this thread.
feel free to post a build, working or not...

Got this from somewhere on the web while looking up methods
of finding inductance for series connected toroid trans.

5.22. Magnesy,z.(Fig.10).--This is a position-repeating motor system,
but its theory is some-what involved. It is described in a published
article by Childs 10 (1944). It is based on the principle of producing
harmonic voltages in a saturated reactor. Such a device is often used
as a frequency doubler, and early forms operating in conjunction with
the Earth's field were called "flux gates" It was reasoned that, if
with a flux gate a fundamental a.c. flux in combination with a
uni-directional flux would produce an even harmonic a.c. flux, then
the combination of a fundamental with an even harmonic a.c. flux would
result in a uni-directional field. This is the basic principle of
the Magnesyn remote indicating system.

It seems that the indicator  element is always at 90 degrees from the sense element
when (I assume) a sine at 400 hz is applied between A and  B of both elements.
Something else interesting is the  frequency doubles at points C and D, if so, could
that higher freq be fed back to the original sig so that  you would have a 400 + an 800
hz sig after the first cycle  then 400 + 800 + 1600 the next etc... an exponential rise
in frequency.

Another thing about this setup is it resembles a gramm
generator, (actually two, pic below) so possible dc voltage
generation with a sinusoidal noise element.

The question is If the elements were stacked vertically,
the magnets in the mid replaced with virtual magnetic
fields, would they be forever trying to align themselves up?
but due to the nature of the circuit they can not, essentially
pushing and pulling itself in an endless loop?

Don,t know, think I,ll build one and tool it out, got
nothing better to do.

also checkout this patent pending "Double Helix" wound
coil from the folks at AML Superconductivity and Magnetics.
Here is a link to their website if your interested.

I,ll bump this post as the build progresses

I,m going to use a differential amplifier for the signal mixing,  i,m using a potentiometer
at the positive junction of the voltage divider / input (not shown in pic)

can i edit my original post?  if so P.M. how    thanks

some of these are quite good

Here is my attempt... but being that my parts bin consists
of a Desoldering iron and scrap circuit boards. The O-Scope
is a sound card input with software, the results aren,t
accurate or reliable.

I,ll mothball this one until better equipment comes my way...
I quess the point of this was to heterodyne multiple signals
and every successive pass will create a higher harmonic until
the core saturates and "something" might happen? Don,t know
until one tries.
