Title: ARPA-E Funding for transformational and disruptive changes in energy technology.
Post by: markdansie on May 20, 2016, 09:13:23 PM
I am always  surprised at the claims of government suppression of energy technologies. Perhaps a few years ago there was grounds for such claims. Times have changed with governments providing funding for disruptive energy technologies.
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) provides a continuing opportunity for the rapid support of early-stage applied research to explore innovative new concepts with the potential for transformational and disruptive changes in energy technology.IDEAS awards are intended to be flexible and may take the form of analyses or exploratory research that provides the agency with information useful for the subsequent development of focused technology programs. IDEAS awards mayalso support proof-of-concept research to develop a unique technology concept, either in an area not currently supported by the agency or as a potential enhancement to an ongoing focused technology program. Applications must propose concepts that are not covered by open ARPA-E focused FOAs and that also do not represent incremental improvements over existing technology.

ROFLMAO.

A technology that could save the planet would have to be able to replace the carbon based energy technology. The carbon technology has a present end-user value of roughly $1O TRILLION per year globally.

So, an inventor clever enough to discover a replacement technology will give away profit and control to da gummint for a pot of porridge in the form of a measly grant and a prize. How much, $1.98? How much control to assure that the technology will get used to help all of humanity beginning with the poorest? ZERO? LOL.

Yea, yea, no MIBs. Now they are hiding in plain sight hoping to identify and control the rascal(s) who might dare to spit in Big Petrol's eye.

Same old same old.
