Title: Efficient hydrogen production made easy
Post by: markdansie on June 13, 2016, 06:31:55 PM
Main Stream science is also on the quest to make hydrogen as efficiently as possible. The research featured in this article is interesting from being able to create room temperature catalytic reactions.
No overunity here but worth a look.

As far as I can tell all these 'electrocatalysts' are simply trying to do the job of platatinized platinum, known for over a century,   without the platinum. As usual the labs make media announcements to get some positive attention. Platinized platinum has the lowest hydrogen overpotential of any metals, making the voltage required for hydrogen production as close as to theoretical as possible.

That is a great observation and I think you are correct, but at least they are trying
