Title: Solar panel energy question?
Post by: magnetman12003 on August 23, 2016, 12:31:12 AM
What is the MINIMUM wattage rating of a 12 volt solar panel that can charge both a 12 volt,12 amp hour battery and a small 12 volt .30 amp fan motor all day and all night?  The battery alone will power the fan during night time hours.    As long as there is day light I expect the battery to be constantly charged while its powering the fan.

I am looking into a 20,30 or 50 watt solar panel.  Which will provide the MINIMUM current to do the job under ideal no clouds bright sunlight conditions?
Under cloudy conditions??

Look at lasersaber vids on YT. They have a link to his Laserhacker page. He seems to be onto some very good solar panels. Maybe he can help you with that.

Solar cells within a panel, are typically around 3 volts each. They are wired up in series within the panel to create a higher voltage. So, for example, a 12v solar panel will be made up a of string of 4 cells.

Solar panels works in cloudy conditions but only 10-25% as well. However – this doesn't matter, what matters is how much sun you get year-round. Cloudy days will come an go, but on the average, it's not going to effect the return on investment of solar panels at all. you can contact solar installer, that will help you to resolve all your queries.
