I plan to place a 100 watt solar panel on the inside pane of my house window that faces North.
I live in Michigan. The thought occurred to me instead of hooking up wires and running them through my house wall I could place a huge old vanity mirror on the outside of my house and reflect morning/evening light off it into the window where the solar panel is. I can bring it very close to the window and easily take it down in a storm situation. I also am thinking a silver lined inside photo umbrella can do the same thing.
What's your thoughts? Has anyone tried this?
If it does work, there wouldn't be a need for solar panels with solar trackers ;D ;D ;D

That's easy enough.
It would pay to have a large curved mirror which focusses down on to the active area of the pv cell but tracking might be more complicated.
