A guy (Magnetman12003) took some time to post a vid on this very(?) forum.
This vid could, indeed, be perceived as not too explanatory. It also could be another fake.
But, it, too, can give ideas, notably the use of an Halbach Array for testing an "Impossible" Self sustaining Permanent Magnet Motor.
So, a gentleman gives you some inventive informations and some ObeseVolatile "saw NO instructions whatsoever."
Personally, I do not need any "instruction" (and education, BTW) but I do like creative ideas.

I think he is just taking weight of the rotor by using magnets to repel the disc from the bottom plate
This actually made me re-think my magnet motor to have the shaft vertical and not horizontal. Maybe a bit more friction, but easier to manage

Take a long flat stick and place a Halbach array arm made out of six 1/2 inch cube magnets on the end. Secure it so it does not fly off. Now get yourself a very large ceramic ring magnet. About 6 to 8 inches in diameter. Lower the stick towards the OUTER edge of the magnet until you find where the poles "REPEL". The Halbach pole that is attracting should be on the ""OUTSIDE"" of the stick. Now twist the stick slowly to about 45 degrees and you will find the magnet arm will not only repel but also slide side ways. Either clockwise or counterclockwise over the edge face of the RING magnet. Your choice either direction.
Unless you do this you will never understand where I am coming from.

The reactions was mostly pointed towards the subject "NO FAKE! - NO FAKE ALL MECHANICAL MAGNET OVER UNITY MOTOR" when there is no proof what so ever, but instead a small experiment that does not really explains anything, people gets tired, fed up, or what not.
When you turn the stick 45°, you must supply energy to do so. This energy is then transformed into motion of the stick. What you do is essensially changing the polarity a bit so the stick-magnet goes from one direction of force to another direction. You will soon find out that this method will cancel out the input and output energy.[/size]
However, "when" it proves to not work, you have at least gained more experience/learning. Learning by experience is never a bad thing to do. It will help you to avoid the same mistakes again, and then go on with new experiments.
Me, personally, will never give up experimenting with things that physicist says is impossible. Looking at things the engineering way, might some times have a different outcome than looking at things the physics way. I hope you understand that I'm not trying to rip off all the exitements you have inside you. I will rather encourage you to fulfill the experiment as a stand alone experiment without influence by Mr. Hand.

If i hold the stick ""STEADY"" at any 45 degree angle without moving it one bit no matter where i put the array arm on the outer edge of the ring magnet the LIKE polarity lifts off and repels sideways CLOCKWISE OR COUNTERCLOCKWISE ""ALL THE TIME"". The unused attraction array arm polarity needs to be kept on the outermost part of the stick during this time. If you twist and hold the stick in one direction so the array arm is at 45 degrees with respect to the ring magnets outer edge the arm will go clockwise. Or by twisting and holding in the other direction the arm will go counterclockwise. AND IN BOTH CASES KEEP GOING. THERE IS NO FINGER PUSHING THE MAGNET ARM ALONG. ONLY THE CONSTANT FLUX OF THE RING MAGNET BELOW IT KEEPS IT MOVING.

FROM WHAT I GATHER THE HALBACH ARRAY ARM HAS A HUGE FLUX BULGE ON ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE
MAGNET AND A NEXT TO NOTHING FLUX BULGE ON THE OTHER SIDE. SO WHEN THE HUGE BULGE IS PUSHED BY THE SAME LIKE FLUX OF A RING MAGNET BELOW IT IT STANDS TO REASON THAT AT 45 DEGREES THE ARM WILL NOT ONLY REPEL UP AWAY FROM THE RING MAGNET BUT MOVE SIDEWAYS AT THE SAME TIME. AND KEEP ON MOVING!

You can use a 5 or 6 1/2 inch cube magnet Halbach array. I used six 1/4 inch magnets in my array.
[size=78%]They were not powerful enough to keep spinning the disk as you can see in my video. I am waiting for larger 1/2 inch cube magnets now. The North Pole was outermost on [/size]

It's very hard to explain everything. You must try this yourself and then you will understand where I am at. All you need is a long flat stick, A Halbach array, and a very large ring magnet as starters.
When you get the array arm to repel away from the outer face edge of the ring magnet you will find it floats .
Now if you twist the secured arm at the end of the stick just a little bit one way or the other so you are close to 45 degrees the arm will not only float but move clockwise or counterclockwise . And will do this when held in that position ALL THE TIME without any finger movement.
I hope this clears things up.

I don't want to be the pessimist here but you will discover that size does not matter. Your rotor has very little friction to begin with, even a tiny force would have been enough to keep it spinning.
A radially outward force (which produces no torque) might seem like a tangential one to your hand but when affixed to a rotor you will notice the tangential component seemingly disappears. Notice in the video how the entire stick in your hand is moving, opposed to having its center pivoted to the center of the magnet.
I'm hopeful you can prove me wrong through.

You're right. The stick moves because the path is crossing a magnetic gradient. If the stick has its center at the center of the magnet, the stick-magnet will follow the circumference of the magnet, and not feel any gradient that will force it in one or the other direction.
So, bottom line, this experiment does not lead to anything but a trivial experiment.
