The most likely global disruptive event will be a solar flare not unlike the great solar storm of 1859 or the Quebec storm in 1989 generally occurring on 30 year cycles. Now that all electrical, electronic and internet systems are integrated with one another we can expect that all these systems everywhere will fail all at once beyond repair.
So you have no power, no heat, no light, no communication, no AC or refrigeration, no water, no fuel as if it matters because the ignition on your car/truck is fried and all the grocery store shelves will be empty within the week. How do you think most people in the city will fare with being thrown into the dark ages with no survival skills in any sense of the word?. A city filled with helpless people with no real skills starving to death... with guns. I suspect most would be killing and eating their own kind within months.
People should be thankful someone had some foresight to plan for such events and they may even save your ass when push comes to shove. The fact is most people living in the city are like big helpless children and they could not fend for themselves in the wild for more than a week. We have bred a generation of imbeciles with no real life skills completely dependent on others for all the essentials to survive. Water, food, heat and shelter are essential and if you do not have them you die, it's that simple.
The big one is coming, we know this beyond all shadow of doubt because it has been recorded throughout the history of mankind. You can deny it all you want, you can prey to your gods to save you all you want however the facts and reality remain.
The fema conspiracy relates more to the ignorant and helpless masses because if you cannot find a long term source of water, food, heat and shelter when our systems collapse you die. Everyone likes to think they have everything under control and then something happens and all hell breaks loose. You would think some people might learn from the past however apparently this is not the case.

So a wealthy preacher living in his huge mansion with all one could wish for tells those who have lost everything not to have a "poor me attitude" and stay away from his 16,000 seat megachuch most likely filled with food and that he will prey for them. Meanwhile underpaid public servants and the military were working 24/7 to move tens of thousands of people, some off their roof, to safety. Working out the logistics or transport, shelter, water and feeding thousands upon thousands of people while the average person overly critical of them cannot even balance their cheque book. Yet for the brave men and women who serve their country rather than prostitute it for profit there was much criticism. As if the critics could actually do a better job, as if they had any tangible skills, insight or knowledge into the insane logistics to do a better job.
