Hi All!
Just in case you are interested in electric vehicles - take a look at these two interesting companies:
www.altairnano.com
www.phoenixmotorcars.com
They are producing an EV with a driving range of ~100 miles which can be fully recharged (with a "special recharge kit") in less than 10 minutes. That sounds like a perfect city car - with no pollution!
Regards,
Hans
PS: This overload/failure message is quite annoying.

Hans are you dense?? "Perfect car with no pollution"?? How do you figure that? You must be the crapulent owner of Mercedes to say a daft statement like that.
NO current electric vehicle on the market with all its poisonous batteries (with short life span), loads of plastic and additional peripheral junk is 'perfect' or 'pollution' free. Besides the one main thing that escapes the greenie EV thickheads, which is that you are merely exchanging tail pipe exhaust (in a petrol car) for additional power station pollution when you go to recharge that vehicle. Where do you think the wall outlet power comes from? Magical genies pedalling bikes in the land of lollipop??!!
Oh dear.

uhm :) that is not entirely true ... you got chinese BYD electric and hybrid cars, with their FE battery technology, that do not need to change the battery for the whole calculated vehicle llife-span (15 years) ... and is perfectly safe both in case of accident and for recycling purposes.
Those cars are have been used in china for taxis over a year now.
Now they are starting to sell them in USA ... and they also got a bus, the K9, with same technology that they are lobbying to sell into USA and other countries.
I would recommed you to follow up the independent unofficial website: http://bydelectriccar.com ... interestingly these chinese guys at BYD may make in practice what the "top" brands in western industry WONT.

Enrique
