Westinghouse has come up with a new insulation for transformers to
sever it's dependence on oil.It's reported to be able to withstand
800KV,know the question is how do I get a hold of some of this
stuff,I don't think it's in standard production yet.
I wonder if its some kind of aerogel.

Virtually all Gas Insulated Systems (GIS) for HV power use pressurized sulfur hexafluoride as the dielectric gas...
