I am constructing a all permanent magnet motor that has the characteristics of a circular tri gate motor. No electronics involved.
I actually had it operating holding a single powerful permanent magnet close to it in a specific spot.
The spinning wheel moves slowly but it constantly moves. Seems it will move FOREVER as long as the magnetic interaction holds up. I am in the process now to make a permanent fixture to hold the single magnet in place so I can make a hands free video. It actually works!!!!
The wheel has 16 powerful magnets mounted nsnsns etc. around it's circumference,
Any idea if this is new or has been done before?

No, as much as i know, no overunity permanent magnet motor with all information publicly available, and fully replicable, has been made.
Furthermore, i think that you cannot make an overunity permanent magnet motor without using asymmetry of the field. This is now discussed in this thread https://overunity.com/18288/power-from-repelling-magnets/120/ .
What i can guess, if you just hold a magnet in your hand, this has been done many times, but the tiny and maybe invisible motions of your hand are enough to make it rotate, but these give enough energy so that it is not overunity. Try to attach it to place, and it doesn't work any more.

Yes it has been tried thousands of times, and never worked.
If you are holding the magnet with your hand it seems to work, but only because your hand is always moving slightly and this puts energy into the system.
It will not work with a fixed magnet.
Magnet motors without active parts never work.
I might mount the permanent magnet onto a soft spring if a permanent fixture does not work. Maybe a little bounce might do the job. Anyways it sure works by using a hand holding it steady??
This is the closest to a tri gate linear setup but I my case it's circular.

I am looking forward to your video. I have been actively working on a design of my own but have not succeeded yet in getting it to work. Please ignore the naysayers. Just keep working and testing. Just because THEY haven't done it does not mean it can't be done.

This doesn't work. Moving it takes energy, one may make something to bounce, and it works for some time, but because it needs energy, it will bounce less and less, until your initial hand given energy ends.
No i don't discourage anyone, but for it to work, there should be a reason and principle why it should work. If there are none, nothings starts to work just by miracle. And trying it without well knowing the reason why it should work, will be a great waste of time and effort. I'm all for finding solution, if you know anything about me, i am.
I just found that a small rod magnet with a ball magnet attached to both ends is spaced exactly
the same distance the magnets on the wheel are spaced out.
When placed in a vertical position next to the spinning wheel the wheel moves rapidly.
However it pulses and I believe a soft rubber washer will allow that to happen mounted under the rod/ball magnet affixed to a stationary vertical support.

I think if one would ponder certain ancient symbols of movement, it would teach a lot about magnetic motor principles.
Unfortunately, electric motors from tape recorders, etc., mainly use soft permanent magnets. Flexible.Only in Russian electric motors there are ceramic magnets.
p.s.By the way, I had a thought. Can we use flexible magnets for our purposes?From it we can cut out any shape we need. And any orientation of magnetization. ;)

Do you mean neodymium? Buy some magnets, they are not expensive. Ah yes, you can get a strong neodymium magnet from an old hard drive, but it is weird shape, it is long and thin with poles at its ends.
I am poor, i should say, but several years ago i bought some ceramic magnets from supermagnete (ceramic magnets are made of ferrite, they are cheaper than neodymium).
You can cut a shield too, when made of laminations of an old transformer, with an ordinary scissors. Mu metal taken from an old hard drive is a bit more difficult to cut, though it is soft like iron and one can saw it, but it may lose its shielding properties, when doing so.
I mean the soft rubber magnetic tape used in electric motors. It is easy to cut out an object of any shape with a knife or scissors. :)

I see, but magnetic tape is likely not a strong magnet, hardly ever useful for overunity experiments. I though that you meant neodymium magnets, these are also soft and can be cut, but they are very strong magnets. What the effect of such cutting is, i don't know, never tried it.

A user named Clanzer made a very good attempt at what
you are trying to do.
Might be worth a little digging to see his work.
I looked at the tri-force gate. The magnets are not always what may be expected. This gate forms one magnet with a weird shape, with the ends of it having the greatest force. That the force at the center is greater for the roller, is not anyhow clear.
To show that it works, all that is necessary is to give the roller some speed before the gate, and when it accelerates when passing the gate, then it gets extra energy. When it doesn't accelerate in that way, then there is no energy gain. In the videos that i have seen, they always start the roller from a standing position somewhere, this proves nothing.

Is this a matter of principle? If it rotates weakly (it would be enough to overcome friction),
It will spin strongly with a strong magnet.

I'm not even sure that this shape provides any asymmetry at all. The top of the gate is really the middle of a side of a magnet. I showed this drawing somewhere, there is energy gain if we can enter the field lines at the side and then leave them, without repulsion, doesn't seem to be possible in any real magnetic field though.
One thing is a shape but. What happens when magnets are at a distance from each other and attract, or when they repel? What is the shape of the field then, and does it bring any more asymmetry?
Roller is a good idea. See whether roller accelerates, when it goes through the magnetic field, by some trajectory. Roller has very little friction.

Suggestion;
The bottom iron wheel attracts towards point A by the magnet.
At a certain rotation speed [from a starter motor] the bottom iron wheel will be thrown away from the magnet below point A by the greater centriugal force [plus gravity] than the attracting magnetic force at point A and starts to rotate continuous.
Or ??
I doubt whether this attraction keeps up the necessary rotation speed.
