You really need to correct the title to the Persian Battery. See for yourself. Do you think people of Iraq with such inhuman nature could possibly create anything useful?
All these parts of the world were parts of the Persian empire. The reason that it is called the Baghdad battery now is because these artifacts were uncovered whilst Iraq is occupied by the US and because of the hostilities with Iran they ( the American occupiers ) called it the Baghdad battery.

i don't know, it was just referenced by a co-worker and i wanted to see what you guys thought about it. i will look more into this technology as i go. do you have any reference(s) regarding your claim?
The biggest question is where did they use a battery? I don't think MP3 players where on sale then!

It's thought that likely the people used it then for plating metals such as gold onto silver.
