There are so many of you with ideas out there, forgive me if this is a repeat.
My idea is a combination of a magnetic ramp and gravity.
The gravity motor (ferris wheel) would have a magnetic ramp starting at say 2PM. At that position, both gravity and the ramp would begin to build momentum.
The ramp would continue until 11 or 12PM where it would the rotating magnet would now be under the influence of the built up momentum with the help of gravity from 2PM to 6PM.
The idea is that with the added help of gravity starting at 2PM to 6PM and the ramp's momentum from 2PM to 11-12PM, it might just overcome the usual magnetic problem we all know of when it reaches the end of the ramp.
Any thoughts on this idea?
The thought about using gravity isn't a bad idea, but there is a few things about using gravity.
If I understand you correctly you're building a "pendulum" which can rotate. The pendulum, when starting 2 o'clock, will by itself find its position at 10 o'clock at maximum on the other side - not 11 or 12 o'clock. The gravity forces working on each side of the pendulum position is of course the same, hence the sum of motion on each side will be zero. This means that gravity does as much work as nothing, so it doesn't matter if the rotor is placed vertically or horizontally.

You could try building in some Clarke Corner Gates. Here are
a couople of ideas:
