Title: Coincidence ?
Post by: innov8 on July 10, 2007, 02:27:58 PM
Hello All, I have been interested in this forum for some time now but I haven't been able to contribute. The photo and link below should be considered. Please do not discount the Fantastic subject mater. Please carefully study the geometry and consider, real or not, what is the intended power source used by the designer or prankster.

Prost!

This was made in a 3D animation package called Maya . There are many more videos done with the same object  even a nice rendering of it taking off in a parking lot. The power source so the guy said on a forum was rotating fields
concept .

This is the one I want to know the power source in   :o

In a 3d package the opposite applies to real life  it is gravity that is hard to mimic
and make things look like they react to gravity forces in an natural way.

I've been following this story for some time now. The picture of the drone was claimed to be real, and the authenticity of said statement is still under heated debate. Those videos were inspired by the images to see how well a fake could be made (and granted they can be made easily and with good quality).

The problem we are faced with now is that computer rendering is so advanced that near pixel-perfect copies of real life images and scenes can be created digitally. So when something like the image does arise, it is nearly impossible to be sure whether or not it was in fact computer generated or real. And since the image came first, it is easy to duplicate via digital means since there is a model to go from.

There is no real answer here, just try to stay objective.

Cheers!

The guy that made the thing came out in a forum and told everyone how he made it.
I have the forum and page some where . he even showed the original wire frames.

And the modified  Klingon text.

I don't really want to start a debate , I will see if I can find the page . The guy use to show his work over at highend3d.com

That was done with extra spray starch...

The "Drone" story is actually far stranger than any poster here seems to realize.

Please go to the following website and read all of their drone reports, as well as a documented report from an individual who worked on this project.  The writing is not Klingon.  Be sure to read the CARAT report there as well.  Enjoy!

Really . Maybe the guy I found was not the real guy then . I thought I had it bookmarked but can not find the page . Might be he was just a 3d replicator. This is far more interesting than I had thought . I just never looked any further once I saw those art posts .
Thanks btentzer

It's a very nice story and all, well crafted. But those artifacts are obviously made in maya. A few of the pics look real, but he gives it all away with the artifacts.

It's fake.
