Post by: buzneg on August 11, 2007, 09:06:50 PM
Doing this every so often can increase your comp speed, and imporve your webpage load time.

Start menu - all programs - accessories - system tools - disk clean-up - temporary internet files - view files - close all browers and deleted all the folders

This will help some too: download, and install.

better yet use Xubuntu Linux :)

Visit www.Xubuntu.org

* You don't have to completely get rid of Windows and still use Linux :) heck you don't even have to install it in your hard drive, you can just run it off the CD ROM drive or USB drive etc.

peace

Heh, I use Fedora Core 6 myself, it's OPEN SOURCE!! :D  And free ;) It's a pretty nice, stable operating system.  I love it.

I took the week camping and now i'm back(freakin ton of posts to read).  Anyway, to increase my computer speed, I turn off a bunch of os programs that don't do anything in the process manager. Another thing ultra uber advance pc users can do is create there own browser operating system, no other program capabilities just a os made to search the net http style on good old port 80. All the processing power on your computer will be dedicated to the browser making things ultra fast. Or like some one said, use linux.  ;)

I agree, Buzneg. Ad aware is one of the top free antispy software out there, easy to use and regular updates.

AVG is a good antivirus and is also free and will work well with ad aware, if you are on a tight budget.

I would recommend a minimum of two antispywares. None are a 100% at removing all spyware.

Just my $.02.
