Title: 5 kW Portable Power Generator (Similar to Steve's TPU!)
Post by: simonmagus on September 19, 2007, 02:50:07 AM
Here is information on a  5 kW generator produced by the Trymer Company that was represented as being ready for commercial release for $500. Gentlemen, that was supposed to be 5 kW AC solid state power generator the size of a small cake pan! They were able to store huge amounts of energy in an iron core toroid and access it with a special hall switch. The similarities between Stevens?s TPU and this generator are striking. Note: Interesting anomalies have been reported and the thermocouple(TC) can be substituted with solid copper wire.

Here are some revealing quotes.

?The company?s 5-kW unit, which costs about $500, is roughly the size and shape of a tall cake pan.?

?Laboratory tests on the generator have achieved densities up to 120,000 ampshn.?, which have been verified independently. Other testing shows that more than 1,000 V can be tapped by the Hall effect using a 1 -Tesla, 60-Hz field applied to a junction; output frequencies from 1 Hz to 1 Ghz were achieved. Engineering studies performed at the Pulse Power Directorate at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey tested energy densities for specific applications ranging from high-speed train suspension,
biomolecular separation, automotive electric power supplies, and ship propulsion. ?

?The company is working with a major U.S. automotive manufacturer to build a 200-pound thermoelectric energy source that is expected to extend the range of an electric vehicle to 600 miles. Trymer has also worked with a major northeast utility, which has developed specifications for an elephant-size 60- MWh magnetic energy storage system. The huge battery-like device will allow utility companies to store some of the electricity they produce at night for use during afternoon peaks, a process called load leveling.?

-mdalink.pdf

?What this tells us is: 1) Large currents can be built up to circulate in a closed ring of thermally induced thermocouples, driven in either direction; 2) The voltage across each of the TC junctions rise to support the current in the ring. This tends to make the resistance in all parts of the circuit cancel out or disappear.] This sounds crazy. It all began with our attempt to reduce the resistance in a ring to store current for a longer lifetime in a projectile. This storage system does not store indefinitely, at least this is our experience. Energy must be continually added but does allow a build up much greater than the input energy.?

Interesting that the documentation for product development partners is from 1995, seems they had no take up then?

Very interesting, especially the pages I have extracted below.

Have a good read, wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the following pages...

That is a very interesting effect, far from OU but such a device could be used to store energy from an operating TPU and then trickle fed by the TPU to keep the stored power at no cost. It looks like a perfect energy storage partner for a working TPU when larger amounts of energy are needed in bursts than the TPU can provide. I really like the part about 'semi-superconducting'.

Patent  5393350  on 'Thermoelectric generator and magnetic energy storage unit' seems to be about the same subject. http://www.google.com/patents?id=uNIfAAAAEBAJ&dq=thermopile+ring

@LarryC

This patents seems more advanced, the switching of high amps is better and it seems to generate as well as store, though the Thymer one did appear to do that but no figures were given.

aaaaahhhhh  you sheep baaahhhh  dencember 1 1995 the guys name started with s look at post 67 about heat daahhh you guy's kill me that why i don't do this no more to much disinformation. simple discrete componets ! not that hard ........ if you get the one that runs cool your 1 in a million but thats beside the point it don't run cool or hot the real thing is control the temp's,, well and over run. just cascade the coils and keep the amps in millie amps it's a sesd , no big kv stuff it's a kiss deal. no big windings just exchange the ion and electron substraites the give the vortex a chance to run and let it run.

Hello all,

Guys, I told you to use the heat produced by the TPU.

@otto

a correctly running TPU should not generate much heat.

Hello all,

@Acerzw

a correctly running TPU GENERATES heat!!
Read the SMs letters to Mannix.
To all,

Ok, lets say my last post in another way:

Guys, now Im telling you to use the heating and the cooling effect in the TPU.

^^ hey Otto,

still, Heat is an effect we don't want when operating any power generating device, since the heat means that the material making up the generator is actually "degenerating".

It could simply be reasonably guesstimated that the reason the SM TPU creates heat is because the materials used in its construction are not "adequate" for the technology. If one fully understands the TPU technology, it could be very much possible to actually make it endothermic in nature.

and yes i do understand the part about why SM thinks this heat is created (the interaction of the frequencies causing the atomic structure to vibrate in a gyroscopic manner).
