Title: Couple of Interesting Stories
Post by: mikey on September 28, 2007, 03:47:52 AM
Gentlemen, and of course Ladies,

Here are a couple of interesting stories. I thought the first one looked promising, but with the amount of cranks out there it's hard to tell.

Lindemann Rotary Attraction Motor:

Peter Lindemann has been coaching a forum in replicating a modified off-the-shelf motor, adding a Bedini-like circuit for improved efficiency, smoother running, and possible over-unity performance. Forum can be found at:

G'day all,

Do not download this, it is not the patent but a large file with legal bullshit about the British patenting system.

Sorry Hans.

I never checked the link. Was in a rush and thought I'd just place the info here.

Apologies to one and all.

QuoteAnd with the UK patent now confirmed, Willie has been in touch with engineers and car companies across the globe in the hope one will be able to help finance the creation of a full working model.

This is quoted from the article.  so, he has received a patent and yet has not built a full working model or example?  How is this possible? Why would the newspaper or Patent Office believe this is going to work when, apparently, it has not as of yet?  Am I missing something here?

Many patent applications have never been built or tested or will ever become realised in real life.
Myself I don't get the idea of spending money and time on patenting something that clearly wont work any good.
Why not build a smaller working model at first that can prove the concept. If sucessful then go patent it....

His claims in this patent of a motor being capable of doing heavy work like propelling a car does not sound right.
An ordinary rotary electric motor would do this jobb 10 times better and being less complicated.

Here is the full text:

THE EVILS of car pollution could soon become a distant memory thanks to an invention by a Vale pensioner.

Instead of using retirement to drop down a few gears, Willie Gallacher has devoted the last seven years of his life to creating an electro-magnetic drive motor which he believes could replace the combustion engine.

The former Scottish Road Racing champion was inspired to act after he watched a television news report detailing the destruction car pollution has wreaked on the planet.

Since then, the pensioner has spent hours holed up in his workshop with all manner of magnets and alternators to ensure his sums add up.

And with the UK patent now confirmed, Willie has been in touch with engineers and car companies across the globe in the hope one will be able to help finance the creation of a full working model.

Willie said: ?The electro-magnetic car will still have all the normal characters ? brakes, lights and so on. The only difference is the block to drive the car, with the crank shaft powered by magnets rather than combustion.

?I have come up with something which no-one else in the world has. You can?t take energy from nothing, so when the car is at a standstill in a traffic jam there would be a problem powering it, but I have found the solution.?

Balloch man Willie is remaining tight-lipped about exactly how this part works, his invention has already attracted interest from as far afield as China.

Brother of famous Renton boxer Skeets Gallacher, Willie has a strong track record in inventing, having previously designed a vehicle driven by a wind powered generator.

He has also sketched plans to improve efficiency on cruise liners, but cars remain his real passion.

Willie added: ?All my life I have been fascinated by cars, stripping them down and building them again. Now I want a car firm to take this on and build a working model.

?Even if nobody listens to me today, in ten years time I reckon they will be putting my name up in Renton next to Tobias Smollett. ?Pollution is killing us and my invention could help to tackle it.?

Environmental groups have applauded Willie?s desire to address a worldwide problem.

Stuart Hay, of Friends of the Earth Scotland, said: ?Emissions from conventional cars damage our climate and impact on public health.

?Whether this idea can provide a solution to any of these problems will have to be left to the experts to decide.?

Here is enclosed the patent.
Quite interesting:

I don't see the logic in this... I thought that the whole idea of making the electric motor a rotary affair, was that it is more efficient than a reciprocating one ?. For need of a good point, a rotary motor has less moving parts than a reciprocating motor due to less friction.  :-\

[edit] Not only that !... I noticed that it has a crankshaft that is dipped into a sump full of oil... I thought that the whole idea of non polluting engines, is to do away with oil ?.  :-\[/edit]

Surely this guy is not serious.

Could the secret ingredient be cavorite or unobtainium? Perhaps the interest from China is from a Lead Out theorist. This invention will sit well next to Chas Campbell's motor.

Get real, this will never work, just another scam.

Hang on !... He did definately say in the video that you cannot get energy from nothing  :-\...

Aaaah, I get it. The machine will be powered by the gasses that are extracted from the BullS**t !    :P ;D :D

Your'e totaly right, Hans.

This type of magnetic motor is doomed to not work any effectively, ever!
One of the most obviuos reasons is that a magnetic piston cannot work like the piston in a ICE.
There's no expanding gases to pressurize the cylinders thus creating power.
An electo magnetic field cannot stretch out more than a couple of millimeters to affect any piston.
This efficently kills the use of a magnetic piston motor to get a high output.
If he instead uses a set of circular electromagnets around the piston to slide it up and down along the cylinder
then he could just as well use a rotary engine that will slide the rotor and shaft around a 100% more effectively
because there is no stopping at the ends to reverse direction.

It's such an obvious scam.

Very interesting device,

@hans and honk

What do you have to show to base your fraud claims upon? How does his fraud work? If you cant back up your claim with anything then you are a liar remember?

You are so obviously lying.

At least I can find the patent link. ROFL!

It's just down to the fact that the inventor is not showing us the underlying stuff  ::).

[EDIT] In other words, I want to see the thing working.[/EDIT]
