Title: HHO Boost Project 0.1
Post by: readyakira on November 08, 2007, 06:36:23 PM
I'm new here and must say this forum seems to have me hooked!  I have been thinking of making a H or HHO boost for my truck.  Last few nights I have found myself falling asleep while trying to absorb so much info!  So if I may I would like to ask a few questions.

1) What form of generator seems to be providing the best results so far?
2) Could someone help me with making one?
3) I notice alot of talk of a tempurature problem.  Would a second cell, and a few thermostats to turn them on/off help?  I hadn't noticed any mention of thermal protection.

I found the site thru zerofossilfuel's you tube and his generator looks simple yet productive.  Zero, have you tried applying the pulse form I see talked about to see if you can drop current draw and still obtain the same yeild?  Most sites I have seen talk about putting a booster under the hood, but why not in a trunk (or in my case the bed of my truck)?

So the other night I got the idea to make a simple one of my own and with limited supplies I bought some stainless steel cable (it said it was stainless at least).  I took a canning jar and made a cross shaped piece of plexiglass to fit just inside the bottle.  I wraped it with the wire cut in 2 pieces and spread them about 3/8in apart on a spiral to the bottom.  filled it with water and some baking soda and viola! with 12v applied I was able to make some gas.  I ran it thru a bubbler and vented it to the atmosphere.  Although I was making gas there was little production for the 12v 2amp draw I was using up.  So I know I would need something much more efficient.  Any help would be appriceated here.  I have very little science knowledge although I do seem to pick up on it easier then most.  I haven't found anything I couldn't do with a little direction and I am determined to not let this one get me.

Anyways great site!  I see much future in the work you all are doing?

Welcome to the forum.  :)

Try not to get so hooked that you quit or loose your job.  :(

Please post some pictures of your work.  8)

Please do not get upset if it seems like folks are not responding right away; this is a part time gig for most of us,... except for some of us.  Some of us are actually building things and can not be on-line all the time.  I will drop out shortly to finish winding that Rodin coil on which I have been working.

Please rename the title of your thread to something more applicable to your work or design; something like, "readyakira's HHO Boost Project," or something along those lines, would do in a pinch.  Most folks here might not take the time to click on a "New here" topic, much less respond; you caught me on a good night.  :-*

Be informative, try to be kind, and have fun.  :D

ty did not know I could do that.  I will have to call the misses and have her bring up my card reader here to work.

EDIT: This is the quick made spur of the moment electrolyzer I had made.  The misses laughed before I made this...

Just got a 4x8 sheet of stainless given to me today!  Now I need to find out is this is 316 stainless.  I beleive it is the same stainless used in resturants so I am not sure what kind this is.
Tomorrow I should be use of some electric shears I can use to cut this into the plates I need for my next attempt at a hho generator.  I would like to make one big enough to produce a substantial amount of gas and was thinking of locating it in the bed of my truck.

Hi Readyakira, welcome to the boards.

I dont usually post in other sections, being a pulse motor enthusiast myself, but I first started my quest for knowledge in the field of hydrogen electrolyzers. May I recommend another forum to visit?(not trying to turn you away from this one at all, just offering you another source to fall asleep too!)

Bob Boyce has some excellent info and many years of expertise in the field. There are also lots of pics of peoples replications etc. All the best and remember to be very safe around H, no smoking ciggies in the lab!! lol.

LOL, that pic was taken in the office.... I actually work on the project in a 12x12x14.5 shed with one wall removed.  I get plenty of ventilation when the fans are running :P  Thank you for the site!  I had stumbled upon it some time ago and lost the link.

Do yourself a favor
Get rid of the glass and find some tupperware poly or Acrylic  type canister.
This will hold up in the electrolysis process and not frag  so bad if it goes bang.
I have seen way to many bad things happen with glass and HHO.

Be safe
