Now that the season is coming to an end for digging in the ground... with the exception of Hans .. i dont think he gets snow ;D, i chose a topic that we have all been brushing by but i would like to expand on.   This Helmholtz fellow seems to  have had some pretty interesting ideas and this one sparked my interest. Remember the parallel path magnet tech , meg.... leedscalins electromagnet... this one is cool vuecause i think it uses the same parallel path concept but he sticks a resonator in there tuning fork to do something .. it screamed acoustic laser so i put this up for all of us to check out. There is a collector on the otherside with a coil at the base.

The above device is a Helmholtz resonator activated by an electrically driven tuning fork which is tuned to the precise frequency of the cavity.

These little machines were used for research and came in various sizes. This enabled Fourier and so forth to analyse sound and break it up into its component parts.

Here are a couple of pictures of a device designed by Helmholtz and built by his friend Rudolf Koenig. Although the device in the pictures is of a somewhat later date 1889 it is still pure Helmholtz. (The only difference being that the electromagnets became smaller in the later designs and were mounted differently)
