Hi All,
This is my first topic on this board, after reading a whole lot :)
I am a complete newbee on H2O, electrolysing, etc.
A wanted to make some tests and therefore I need answer to the following question.
How thick should the plates be?
I can easily get my hands on 316L, but the minimum thinkness is 2mm
Is that to thick? or is it OK?
Thanks for the help!
Glassie
Hi Glassie
To my mind, anything between 1.5 and 2 mil will be fine as its not overly thick, but likewise not too thin to warp. This means that you can confidently place the plates close together without worrying about warping or buckling and hence contact.
Too thick and not only would there be the unnecessary expense issue, but also the physical space the plates will take up.
Summed up, 2mm 316 should be ideal.
