Title: Evaluating Magnetic Motor Concepts
Post by: fritz on January 20, 2008, 05:33:27 AM
I think it makes some sense to evaluate MM Concepts using
electromagnets.
By using electromagnets for prototyping - you can exactly measure
stress/force by measuring current voltage in the setup.
The optimum MM concept would be the use of superconducting
electromagnets....
what do you think ?

I think you're exactly right. With electromagnets one can really have control over the form of the magnetic fields which is the crucial element in the successful building of a working motor Of course, these fields have to be properly measured. Unfortunately, such experiments require resources lacking for most of those involved in this research.

Fritz,

I think your idea is a good one but I have had almost no luck duplicating the actions of a PM with an EM. There is always some subtle difference that throws me back to making or ordering a PM to do a test.

Has there been luck with this by anyone?
