Title: RiKu's Bedini motor
Post by: riku2015 on January 29, 2008, 09:46:16 AM
hi all my bedini motor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VxarU215D8

and live webcams feed of motor http://webcams.titanix.net:8080/
edit: im not there now. tomorrow maybee :)

question, what i should do if i put 2 coils? just own transistors and connections to that? to act as primary both?

this is unsynchronized  coils. more hi-res pics at my blog (http://www.titanix.net/~riku/wordpress/?page_id=103)

RiKu good work. There are a number of things you can do here to exploit certain effects. You need to decide what you want your motors properties to be. If you have two separate coils that each have their own trigger and fire out of phase from each other you will notice slightly more torque. The magnets closer together would help too. I would be inclined to use all your coils fire at once via a master and slave configuration. Your input will increase, but your output and speed will too. You may find that the batteries you have are then more suitably rated.

The other option would be to wind all your windings onto one coil quad or quintfilar or even more. You can use one to trigger and the rest link up to transistors in paralell. I have a couple of trifilars that perform quite well like this.

What are the lengths and gauges of your coils?

hi i know that. i have read the bible of Bedini, the Bedini's starters guide: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bedini_SG/

But anyway i have all coils not synced on purpose. Test.
i get about 6-10 spikes to scope. each coil give spikes, some gives 3 some 2.. i have pic, but camera is not here at moment.
motor it's running less than 200mA this moment. you can see my webcams (http://router3.titanix.net:8080/).

the coils are NOT same.
coil 1: 700winds,    0.56mm(main coil) and 0.4mm(trigger)
coil 2: 1000winds,  0.56mm(main coil) and 0.4mm(trigger)
coil 3: 1200winds,  0.56mm(main coil) and 0.4mm(trigger)
coil 4: 1200winds,  0.56mm(main coil) and 0.4mm(trigger)

best coil is 1000winds, that gives biggest spike an best torque. at lower current draw.

Questins what i don't have yet answers:

- what is the best turns/winds to coil? 900?
- if i connect to 1 master and 3 slave, does the coil need to be bifiliar winded? can i make only example coil with 0.56mm only for secondary/slave?
- for trifiliar or more, do i need always put the 0.56mm wire for main coil's?
