Title: Long arm switching...
Post by: iacob alex on February 10, 2008, 02:15:50 AM

....can be the basic problem ,for a gravity powered device.Regarding a pendular gravity "game"(See  "Cool......") ,it seems that the design asks for a kind of a lever switch.
Usually,it is defined as a simple machine, consisting of a bar, supported at some stationary point(fulcrum) along its length and used to overcome resistance of a second point,by application of an effort at a third point.
This time,we can imagine this tumbling, all time fall down, fall end over end motion of the pair long arm-short arm,on the same side of the fulcrum(stationary point) ,surprisingly...inside this fulcrum "point",in the most "semplice" manner.

....is possible to  involve two kind of shifts/relocations/commutators:one owing to gravity and one chargeable to the rotational inertia, that work in an intimate and mutual relationship.

The one and the other must act in a self manner...

...seems to be the only one big problem of a possible gravity powered device.

If we "enter" in any design, with an unstable arrangement(long arm-short arm type) for a half turn(0*to180*,up to down),our problem is to keep this unbalance on the same side of the fulcrum, for the next half turn,so to make a loop.

Now,a simple question:if it is possible to imagine this process, how can it be in connection with the time factor?...a continuous, step by step or in a flash,at once one?!
