Did someone try to replicate the bycicle wheel ? where is the trick ? if it is real, it should be using gravity, magnets and even "coriolis effect" / caos....
I have to manage to find some parts that will able me to replicate it :) unless someone detected it already as a hoax.

If you're talking about the one The_Eskimo_Quinn posted, it could be for real.
Why wait for someone to say, "That'll never work!"; Go ahead and build a replica (using tools/materials available to you) and find out.
Although there are many a good person here that would give you their honest answer, the best way to prove/disprove a concept is to build it with your own hands and see it with your own eyes.
If you take my advice and build one, parts you rob from other machines should be "robbed" in a way that you can use them again for different ideas, or even using them for their original purpose in the machine you got them from.
Then you're out nothing but your time and brain sweat.

This looks pretty much "it" ... either it stops right after the guy shuts down the camera, or not...
I will try to do my own testing. I would love to have more tips :) etc so I do not spend THAT much time on getting balance / weights right.

As far as tips go, I have few as I'm still building my replica too, but I'll give it a stab anyway.
Find magnets that can turn the wheel without the counterweight and then use something that has mass but is removable and can be added to/subtracted from easily (modeling clay comes to mind). Once you find a weight that allows continuous movement, take it off, weigh it, and replace it with material of an equal weight.
Or just leave the clay.
You're building it to prove concept. IF it proves out then you can look at how much work/load it can support and build a bigger, better one.
