This design uses a constant air gap and the coils circuit is only closed during the build up of a magnetic field in any one coil core.
A diode can be used to accomplished this.
During this period the rotor flux is countered by the opposite polarity of the magnetic field of the coil. During this period the field strength of the rotor magnet is countered. This is a basic magneto principle as common sense would dictate. During the rotors movement away from any stator coil the circuit is blocked by the diode and no power production or coil reaction takes place.
The constant air gap and continuous stator rings are the key to this system operation.
This is just one of many operation principles this layout is able to operate on.

Shouldn't the polarities alternate? The RED polarity is always on the inside track. I would think one end of your rotor would be RED on the inside track and the other end would be BLUE on the inside track to produce a changing field--- AC output. Very nice design.
