Well I've been tinkering all my life and I am a certified bicycle mechanic. After seeing an electrolysis device on Youtube, I decided to make one with what I had available to me. Small plastic peanut butter jar, SS from a vegetable strainer, distilled water and baking soda. I've plugged this into the airbox of my scooter(50cc 4 cycle air cooled Chinese job) and saw an immediate improvement. Smoother running engine, better acceleration and clean exhaust gases. I am now checking for fuel mileage and very early findings point to 160 mpg(imperial) compared to the normal 100 mpg. Being eager, I haven't built a bubbler for it yet, but that's in the works. Any comments or pointers would be appreciated. My next step is to build one for my gas guzzling 1994 Chevy APV.

Impressive improvement in mpg!  Could you give us an idea of gas production, or at least your current/voltage setup?  Thanks.

a friend directed the HHO gas output into the vacuum hose that directly goes into the intake manifold (by-passing the carburator)...he had better fuel efficiency (at least doubled) and good throttle response - it was a 1600cc VW bug.

btw, you need the bubbler for safety (a backfire can occur if you tap the line to the intake manifold). he didn't "manufacture" the bubbler... he used the radiator coolant overflow container.  these overflow containers is so far the best bubbler that is ready made and relatively cheap to buy.

I plug it on the 12V system of the scooter. I haven't measured production, but the jar contains 300ml of distilled water with about a teaspoon of baking soda. Like I said, the results are very early ones.

Just put in some fuel and mileage is more in the range of 104mpg (Imperial)

So you're powering it from the moped's own battery, and it's ordinary electrolysis (no pulsing circuitry) - correct?

Just trying to get an idea as to what amount of gas it takes to get a 50% improvement with an 50cc engine.

EDIT: - just saw your last post - so not a huge improvement afterall...

That's right, no pulsing circuit. 104 is better than the original 83mpg(100mpg is what the manufacturer advertises, but after some math, they are way off as well.) and the unit was off a few times during that tank of gas. I have made some improvements and we'll see how good itis. However, engine smoothest and response improvements were well worth the trouble of making this.

Seeing as you're running things from a relatively small battery, pulsed electrolysis should produce better results.  I am going to build Lawton's circuit when I get the chance, even though I will be only driving a couple of SS spoons to begin with!  When I can source some SS tubing, I will build a proper unit.  Here is the Kelly pdf in case you have't got it:

Quite frankly I'm not sure why all vehicles do not generally have this water-for-fuel type thing.
Except for having to add some additional water. Hydrogen apparently complements fuel combustion
very well. What you are doing is loading down the engine a little bit, for a great deal of improvement
in overall engine efficiency. You will not be able to run the engine entirely on self-generated HHO
(that I know of) but the kinds of efficiency increases you are seeing do not violate any scientific
laws either. Especially operating with vacuum above the liquid, that helps. When you put on a
bubbler you might want to consider a way to have the vacuum bypass the bubbler with a fiberglass
filter or something. Water vapor alone probably provides some benefit in the exhaust cycle as well.

These devices simply CAN NOT produce enough of either hydrogen or oxygen to give the effects described. End of story.

I just know that what I have built and slapped on my scooter made the ride a whole lot more enjoyable, that's all that matters to me for now. The quest is not over and besides, R&D is the reason why I mess with these and other things. Remember fun? Chill man.

I am chilled lol but it takes a lot of analysis to get real answers and the analysis has never really been done on these devices. The fact is that, with the current through the cells, these things can't produce enough H2 from water to do much at all as far as engine performance
