Post by: guruji on August 05, 2008, 03:24:15 PM
Hi guys how can one do a capacitor bank? One should use same  voltage and uf caps?
Can one use them hooked to a 240v inverter to help motor surge so helping inverter watts?
Thanks

Have a look at pages 7-11 of this PDF file: http://www.panaceauniversity.org/RV.pdf

Use at least 400V AC rated RUN type capacitors.

To make sure you switch on just enough capacitor, you wish to use a Kill-a-Watt meter to see the PF (Power Factor) values directly.

use an lamp bulb (also halogentube) to protect the inverter from surge current.
the lam in serie to the load.
this will light first , after the go dark, you can close the lamp with an swicht (to electrical short) the lamp.
if you have 200 watt motor an 100 (150watts) lamp will be enought)
