This U-Tube video shows a setup of V-Gates on a long, flat surface. It looks as if it would keep going if there were more V-patterns set up, though I could be wrong. Can this pattern be set up in a closed loop on a drum? If it has a sticking point that will eventually stop it, would setting up two tracks side by side, but staggered, help it continue turning without stopping? My thinking is that when one track approached a sticking point the other track would be at a point where it is accelerating, which might not allow the sticking points to slow the drum down enough to stop.
On a drum, I would use the setup for the little car as my stator and I would put at least 3 of them around the drum on the same track. The longer the drum the more room for more tracks I would have, 3 stators per track.
Viable? Worth looking into? Or have you all already looked into this one and ruled it out? If so, would you mind bringing me up to speed on it? Thank you for looking this one over.
