I don't understand.? You certainly get a lot more output per power imput.? I'm doing a small experiment with a 300W motor from a box fan.? I created a very crude stator using a threaded rod and 8 small N4x magnets (1/2" circle, 1/32 or 1/16 thickness).? There are 4 sections where part of a nail is glued to the magnet and extends to within 1/8 in of the coils.? The result turning by hand...
2 or 3 mv using the normal stator
over 200mv using the modified one
I don't know what the RPM is but I get about 330ma when I attach it to a 300 or so RPM drill.? ? With a angle sander so far I've seen over 9v but I'm still waiting on the glue to dry.
I'm trying to cut the original stator and imbed some bar magnets but my dremels not up to the task :)? I wonder how fast it would spin if I hooked it back up to 120v ac ;)
