i was looking into the bingo carbon arc thing and i read that the rods were sometimes filled with different substances to cause the arc to burn a different color.then i thought,why not use an aluminum filament to increase hydrogen production?seems the aluminum melt in 6k degrees would make some gas.i haven't tried it but if someone has the means try it and let me know what happens.my gift to the forum.p.s. i don't think it would have to necessarily be processed aluminum either the ore powder would melt under the same conditions i believe.

Years ago, this is invented. an aluminum wire that is burning over an ark under water soend an lot of hho, zhat in an way, that the costs  (alumin v/s hho( is to use to "drive" with very low cost.
This device is patented, was tested also from BMW, And honored with "very useful".  But it is not used (solong we have oil , the industry is
possibly very slow to change anything...

refined aluminum is expensive but unrefined aluminum(bauxite) is the most abundant metal on the earth.salt is another abundant thing (ala Kanzius) and water.the answers are staring us in the face.

G'day all,

Liberating hydrogen by injecting water into white hot carbon is an old technology, very well understood. It was made use of in old fashioned coal gas generators. The product was called water gas.

What happens is that in white hot coal the carbon has a greater affinity to oxygen than hydrogen. The resultant gas is a mixture of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Molten aluminium will do much the same except it will not generate carbon compounds.

Bauxite will NOT work since bauxite is essentially oxydised aluminium and therefore will not attract any oxygen from the water. Hope this helps.

I cannot see why aluminat would work any better. It comes in several forms lead aluminat, sodium aluminat being the most common with a few exotics thrown in. Apart from the fact that it is not easy to get hold of especially in wire form I cannot think where the advantage would be. Magnesium wire incidentally would work too.

All you want to do is break the bond between oxygen and hydrogen and dispose of the oxidised compound.
