* insert an 8 inch long zip tie, into a plastic straw.
making a "straw-tie".
* connect together 3 "straw-ties",
to make a straw-tie triangle.
* zip tie together multiple straw-tie triangles,
to make whatever shape you need, for your devices.
* in my picture below, a hexagon.
to use as a wheel.
the straw-tie triangle is superior to plastic plates, by far.
* weight is lighter.
* easier to "shape".
* dimensions are more accurate.
* faster to build.
* cheaper, by a few thousand times.
* build a large wall of triangles, from which to hang whatever you want.
* build a large solid box, to covers the walls and ceiling of a room.
from which to hang anything that you want.
* build a large dome, cover it with durable tarp, line it with aluminum insulation, and you have the perfect shelter.
* if you coat a triangle with a waterproof resin, the triangle might last for centuries.
durability is a minor issue.
because most of the time, it will be "strong enough" to do whatever you need.
attaching an extra layer of triangles, doubles the strength.
a 3rd layer tripples the strength.
and when part of it "must" be tougher,
that part can be reinforced with a small amount of another material.
such as making a bearing out of coiled steel wire,
and attaching the coiled steel wire to the straw by,
you guessed it,
zip ties !
by the way.
if you need every square inch of surface area to be insulating,
than just wrap the triangles in trash-bag.
and tape or zip tie it on.
if you need the insulation to not make crinkling noises,
than wrap the triangles in rosin paper from the hardware store.
