The great bright hope of new age lights
Has cast asunder CF whites.
LEDs on silicon wafer
-No more mercury; much, much safer.
Longer brightness, less consumption,
Saner thinking in resumption.
Will the RF buzz from these
Be without adversities?
The CF types make people sick;
Let's hope that these ones do the trick.
Otherwise, the incandescent
Is the first choice dark suppressant.
If we could split the positive,
And freely to the world it give,
Lighting costs would go way down;
Decreasing outage - black and brown.
For this, we just keep coming back
To share a new creative tack
On woes that bind humanity
Reducing to profanity
All that's sacred in our nature,
-Something that no lesislature
Can destroy or still displace
From the single human race.
The great bright hope's within us all;
The human spirit will not stall.
On this we ought still to agree
And work in solidarity.
The light has shone in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
