Title: Magnetically Self-confining Cold Plazma Batteries
Post by: sparks on February 05, 2009, 10:13:35 AM
Get one constructed put a coil around it excite the coil to introduce some waves in the plasma.   Current fluctuations in the plasma skin transformed to electrical output.

You just can't keep your hands out of the Plasma [cookie] jar !!

Are you talking about the star in a jar ?

Wrap a coil around ?

I once saw user plengo [I think] maybe Fausto] on Stifflers thread playing with a plasma ball toy and the Docs sec getting odd things happening

The electrons in a plasma circulate around the protons like it is a giant atom.
This electron migration creates a magnetic field just like a conductor carrying a dc electron migration.  This magnetic field keeps the protons compressed in a field within the electron field.  Into this plasma we introduce a wave phenomenon where by at intervals the electrons are moving faster at one point in the plasma than at another where they are slowing.  This would cause radiation at a frequency determined by the introduced wave.  The whole thing should keep it's shit together as long as it is shielded from unwanted electrical excitation which would make the plasma turn back into gas.  The slowing and accelerating of the electrons within the plasma will propogate emwaves to be pickedup on antennaes suitably placed about the plasma.  The wave could be caused to reflect within the mass of the plasma basically forever as long as the electrons keep on truckin around the core.

The electrons are doing 1/10th the speed of light in the near field of the proton.
Now if we got a shitload of protons in our manmade mega atom and a shitload of electrons doing 1/10the speed of light in orbitals amounting to miles instead of atomic radi we gotta ourselves a pretty good sized battery.  Something like coil lightning instead of ball lightning.
