Turning organic waste into hydrogen - via microbial electrolysis cells - now works without expensive platinum by using stainless-steel brush surface instead. 80% cheaper and more efficient.

the article talks about the cathode being made of the stainless steel brush... which suggests they were just using some rods before like the most simple electrolysis experiments with the 2 nails

so I wonder what would happen if  we were to add neutral plates and/or some different plate designs like in the normal electrolysis HHO experiments... it would create the higher surface area and maybe even increase the production

I would be interested in seeing how it is set up and what the output currently is
