that's something :) if one covered piston crowns and combustion chamber with it... ICE wouldn't need any cooling system and turn out to be quite efficient i may add !
where to get this plastic?
Ward and his 'starlite' were on 20/20 here in the states. After that appearance, a rep from DuPont came out to meet him across the pond. He caught the guy trying to get away with a sample by stuffing it down his pants.
(big surprise)
Obviously some back room deal was struck long ago....because he's still alive, I believe, and the stuff's nowhere to be found in the public domain.

yeah. i tried to get some more info on this plastic :| apparently some other guy in Canada(?) also have some fire pasta based on polymers, claimed to have similar properties and also made from cheap stuff.
That guy is Troy Hurtubise...apparently he split with his wife and possibly is ducking bill collectors.
He has invented many products and is googleable.
Regards...
Ain't he the guy that went from bear proof suit to the 'angel light' in a single bound?
TS
Thats the guy Tech...there are many story's on the net...I saw a sample of this super strong lightweight plastic like material apparently made from corn syrup, diet coke, and some other grocery store items.
Very impressive...has a much longer impact resistance life before weakening.
I believe he called it Hurtsey.
Regards....

Hi Tracker
your first link as an error message
I watched the video, I remember seeing this when it was new, way back in the 70s
tomorrow's world was great television. BBC took it off air sometime in the early 80s
I remember something about the guy not trusting anyone when it came to a deal
it's a shame the BBC are not bring back the series
thanks for the memory

Hi Powercat,
Link works now. They moved the page around.
What is interesting, when I've searched the http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/) for Starlite, I've found two links about it.
Just look at the names.
BB is watching :)
BTW. You will love the story.
regards,
Tracker
