I am curious at the amounts of energy that can be gotten from the wind belt turbine.
I have an excellent cheap way to make a larger wind belt use some nylon banding and band around a 2x12 on each end and a 1x6 running down the middle for coils on the top and bottom.
Then you can have a dual wind belt. and have several coils along the belt to produce power.
I'd like to see one with heavier neo mags along with some heavier gauge wire.
heh, and you thought wind turbines were loud ...this is like having a giant guitar string.
The windbelt is an interesting idea. Despite this, I doubt it will make very much of an impression - it's a resonance issue, the optimum conditions must exist.
The inventor actually uses neomags in his design, there's really no other way to go about an optimum.
i want to make a windbelt, like you said, one magnet pairing on each side, but i never seem to have the time, or when i do not the components.

There are various methods to greatly eclipse the windbelt design. Aeroelastic flutter research, at least as exists in the public domain, is in it's infancy. Traditional wind generators make little use of low pressure areas which can easily be induced to maximize power production via alternating extremes between high and low pressure areas.
Like birds, fish and insects have done for eons.
Beings how most wind generators require high mounting in pristine wind flow areas, why not study the possibilities closer to good old 'terra firma'?
You know, make use of vastly increased surface area and put the 'smack down'....

I second that opinion any given day I feel plenty of power at my back or look in the rear view mirror wondering why I ever combed my hair in the first place...
It is amazing with all the greatest things we have achieved there is still so much not attempted.
And a real technology too! Again no magical coils or special magnetic placements or scientific violations.
