Now I have got my Big CNC finished, I started work on the Open Energy Labs PMM.

Couple of pictures of the Rotor so far and progress will be posted here as well as over here

Cheers
Sean.
If I just stick some springs into my Mondrasek wheel, wouldn't that be close enough?
;)
And Sean, will your progress reports replicate openenergylabs' very glitzy graphics and music and video productions?
(1:17 of video and less than 20 seconds of actual information, and then it turns out to be another old, old idea...)
:P
I wonder if the folks who develop and sell Working Model are at all concerned about the fact that their simulator repeatedly seems to simulate things that, well, just don't work in reality.
Wouldn't it be easier to have fixed magnets on the rotor and a dynamic (with a spring) one as stator ?
And...instead of using a metal spring, use two magnets repelling each other as a magnetic 'spring'?
I just replicate, some people prove by using common sense, I prove by seeing it not working/working with my own eyes ;D
You do not know unless you try, plus I got to try my new bigger CNC machine out LOL
Rotor support arms finished and base tomorrow.
Cheers
Sean
Glanzer, I did not make my remark to critisize your work.
Your replication tools and quality makes everybody (including myself) quite jalous.
Go ahead please.

Hi Robbie
It did not come over as critisism, so do not worry, I am not offended and good point you make.
Will ask Brad from OEL if he can change his model and see if the stator being the spring loaded actor as such gives the same result.
Atleast with this replication we have exact measurements on everything, including air gap and strength of magnets.
Cheers
Sean.
I'll joint their forum and continue my suggestions over there, so we can keep this thread on replication ;)
