Title: Can anyone tell me if the McQueen Machine is real or not please?
Post by: chessnyt on June 21, 2009, 01:41:04 AM
The link is http://mcqueenmachine.com/ (http://mcqueenmachine.com/)

Again, the link is http://mcqueenmachine.com/

Please let me know if this self generating generator is fake or not and why it passed the US Patent Office's no perpetual motion criteria testing?  There were two examiners brought in to scrutinize it.  Supposedly, no perpetual motion devices all given patents without prototype verification to avoid false claims.

ill say at a quick glance .....

i only spent 5 min looking

yes it looks to be a closed loop self running unit ...

looks like he uses the starter to bring it up to speed and runs it off the invertor after the correct speed is atained ...

ist

just a quick guess ....

in a nut shell i dont believe this is a scam...its self delusion. I am suprised at your analysis Inovation Station...you should of all people know better and overunity is just a pipe dream. (dreams can come true)
There have been similar devices to this over the years both big and small. I fear his battery ran flat when he tested it for two hours. I would also say..hey if it stopped I would have worked through the night to fix it.
This one wont be as fun busting as the Mylow one and Mylow was rather clever. However no cigar.

I forgot to mention it has been covered in a previous thread

I have to stop mis behaving myself as i was hoping to get some fresh arguments. This one is long ago burried at the OU Boot Hill.
Kind Regards

How that patent ever was granted is the only mystery here.

Interestingly they say that after the machine is started the batteries can be disconnected and it continues all it's own to power itself and the load.

If they did disconnect the batteries for the patent office demonstration and it continued to run then that's pretty cool. Even if it ran for only a few minutes without the batteries it would have created more energy then what was required to start it.

so did he did run it without the batteries or not  ???  that's the question

all the best,

Depends on what you mean by "run". You'd be surprised at how long a heavy flywheel can turn a generator, just on stored rotational kinetic energy. "Several minutes" is not really much of a problem. Several hours would be a better test. But don't you worry, this device will never "fly", no matter how he managed to get his patent.

You will note in the FAQs on his website that there is no currently operating prototype and there won't be one in the foreseeable future. But by sending money you can improve your chances of being notified when there is one.

Now, where have I heard that kind of thing before?

I like how under Photos, he does not have any photos of the device, but of "scenery from Australia."

At least the scenery is real, and you can see it in person, any time you want.
Seeing his device working, though...that will be more difficult even than travelling to the Outback from America...on foot. It just cannot be done.

@TK
I am sure there is a story and a set of plans to sell for Sterling in this. I think he is looking at the cylinder version of the smot device at the moment.

He said it would be ready in two years back in 2005. The McqueenMachine.com site is now used by a musician, and the patent is up for auction here if you want to buy it now in 2014....http://www.patentauction.com/patent.php?nb=1217
So, it probably didn't really work. A feedback loop is a very basic idea, and is the first thing a beginner with no understanding of physics, EMF and back EMF would probably try. A hard lesson learned I bet.
