connect compressed airhose into sparkplug hole with a
valve and time it to open TDC
surely it must have been tried before-i havnt come across
any reports about it
why wouldnt this work?
in france-they are just about to massproduce an aircar
using a rotary type engine
so why not my idea?
just block the spark plug, and use the intake valve to meter to input air.
But yes, it works, there are videos of engines like this out there.

thanks, d3. i never thought to search for it on utube
yes theres quite a few engines converted but so far i havent
seen success in powering a car with air
ill search some more
Have you come across the ratchet engine on Youtube? It seems like it would be ~factor 3 more efficient that a typical ICE, due to its more logical construction. Beefed up, it should equally be able to boost mileage for a petrol engine by factor 3, let alone when making ti an air/electric/petrol/HHO hybrid.
i saw a documentary on either a Russian, Norwegian, possibly french as you said (someone from across the sea)
that was doing this
they had a two passenger car, and had to design a special tank to hold the air, because if it got punctured it would basically be a bomb
to make it safe it was accordion/fan style that allowed it to safely blow up
anyway, its not very powerful and a bit impractical for a full sized car
similar to a battery car
if there was a mechanism that allowed a large storage of the "fuel" it would be practical, otherwise it just takes up too much space and weight

these people have solved the problem
they use carbon fibre air tanks
and these cars are quite fast and powerful
