I was browsing over some information on the new google wave API and couldn't help but notice that the interface was productive. Here is a video about the software http://wave.google.com/help/wave/about.html#video (http://wave.google.com/help/wave/about.html#video); I think it would make a great interface for a replacement forum, if i'm correct the back end code may become available for the public..
If so, then this would allow people to use the conventions and customize the interface. It would be about time someone made some decent forum software with a less strict, more relaxed method for communicating.

Here's a list of google wave extensions; i'm hoping someone out there modifies this into a forum-like package, this could be interesting though, the whole think is primarily Java based.
