This is a future project, I will try to have one made before the end of the next month of December, I will make a You-Tube video and or take some pictures.
there are stricter regulations with 241Am and I will follow those Regulations for the experiment.
this self illuminating light source should produce white light by ionizing the white phosphor coating inside the tube.
241Am is a strong Alpha emitter, 3x times more Alpha radiation than Radium.
241Am emits very low Beta emissions.
241Am produces extremely low gamma radiation just above back ground radiation.
after building this device it is advised to throw it away as specified by Nuclear regulations. it is strickly an experiment on Radio Light sources.
Probably work!
Too bad they don't use AM241 in smoke detectors anymore.
Won't you also need to evacuate the tubes to increase the emission range?

I have a couple of old smoke detectors I am replacing in a month or so, after proof of concept I will see about evacuating the tube. it should in theory work even without evacuation but ionizing efficiency will vary with Tor values.
if it is successful I will see about increasing its luminosity.
if the white phosphorus coating does well then I will use white phosphorus as my N doped Photovoltaic coating since white Phosphorus doped into silicon becomes a photovoltaic material, it will convert Ionizing UV to electricity plus white light given off by the excited state via Ionizing radio Isotope.
if I can connect the Aluminum base directly in contact with the white phosphorus coating I will check both Aluminum bases with a meter to see if I can get photovoltaic activity producing current between both bases.
I will be using a pretty small fluorescent tube for the experiment.
I am just collecting my thoughts for now until it's time to put everything together for testing.
Kind of like the tritium Light i have .

The problem; as usual; is that these people don't put out the organzational
risk/effort (money) to solve the fundamental societal problems that would be introduced
by their products, if they come into widespead use...Such as Litro-Off waste disposal
fluid.
Then they come along and try to "eat their potential users lunches" by building
products going up the food chain...But then are left with the same old problems,
only slightly suppresssed. The first set of prolems would have been suffcient for
one company to resolve.

Yes, I agree!
Instead of just producing a product that would make them billions, they want to make sure nothing slips through their fingers so they attempt to develop several products to maximize their profits and instead become bogged down in the problems of each project and produce nothing!
I think it is called American greed!
one of my You-Tube subscribers who plays with Radioactive materials has verified that 241Am illuminates a Green Phosphorus screen, he said it illuminates the screen about 3 times better than 137Cesium, this is very good sign.
