has anyone did any field experiments with this type of coil design, It might have some different Lenz law effects because the inside of the U coil acts like a half pipe like those used in Lenz law experiments where a magnet is drop through a conductive tube.
This is an inductor, it may not present a magnetic field when a current passes through it, but it may provide a decent burst for AC?
I do not know, it require quite a bit of agitation to measure such a thing in this configuration. If I am correct, the wire path zig-zags ( top view )?
Take a toilet paper cardboard cylinder roll, wind some small gauge winding wire around it then simply glue the wire in place and then push in the top of the coil until it goes from a O shaped coil to a U coil, if you make the tube long enough you can make a tire shaped coil where magnets can revolve inside the tire shaped coil.
