Ummmm, dude, according to that article you linked to, that 'President' was President Reagan, the 'great power' was the soviet union and 'the war spawned in lies' was the soviet war in Afghanistan in the 1980's. But perhaps I'm missing your point. Did make me realize though, even if the article were referring to current events, it'd just be another case of their speaking with forked tongue. It's not too hard to imagine Obama and the NY Times saying stuff like that on one hand, while still perpetrating the war on/of terror on the other.
Its getting harder and harder to tell those 2 wars/invasions apart.
It was only a mater of time before people started getting them mixed up.
I've been reading so many official lies over the years, they're all starting to blend together.
Odd how all those lies blend together so seamlessly...almost like they all followed a uniform pattern of denial...like ignore, discredit, intimidate, eliminate.
