Title: MOSFET driver recommendations
Post by: PaulLowrance on February 07, 2010, 01:56:59 PM

Any more recommendations?  Here are a few,

MIC4427ZN - lowside,non-inv,17ns,1.5A,4.5-18V
  TC4427 (e.g., TC4427EPA) - lowside,non-inv,1.5A,20ns,4.5-18V
UCC37324P - lowside,non-inv,25ns,4A,4-15V
UCC27322 - lowside,non-inv,9A,25ns,4-15V
UCC27321 - lowside,inv,9A,25ns,4-15V

ICL7667CPAZ - lowside,inv, 20ns, 1A, 4.5-5.5V

I used MC34151 and UCC27322 before.
UCC27322 are more rugged in handling and less sensitive to ESD is my feeling.

All these acronyms...

I've ordered several mosfets from Goldmine Electric; they should be here by Friday, I'll post my opinion then.

I mainly ordered Enhancement mode MOSFETs for the purposes of incorporating them into Joule Thief Circuits.

The MC34151 might be well suited for Orbo replications because it's a low current chip. The UCC27322 seems like a good heavy duty driver.

Two amazing schottky diodes,

95SQ015             VF=310mV @ 9A, VR=15V, 2900A peak, 1300pF @ -5V

DFLS130LDICT     VF=310mV @ 1A, Vf=100mV @ 1mA, VR=30V, 1A average, 50A peak, 76pF @ -10V

This looks like power diode package with multiple diodes in parrallel.
note; The high interelectrode capacitance may limit it's applicability.

MOSFET's are typically 1000pF to 10000pF.
