Smart Meters will control your appliances directly via a wifi network with the ability to shut them down. Sounds like a total control grid in the making.

This is already being installed in the Netherlands with the water supply, but i believe it has (after protest) some delay..
somebody will hack it, to many protesters in America for this to work.
Agenda 21 and codex-Alimentarious.
My first initial reaction is to hack the signals or if not successful, set fire to the water company!

I work for the county and the water department, no need to set fire to anything because it will not happen here in America, it is to vulnerable to hacking.

LOL, could you have a word with the guys in the Fluride supplication depatment to ease it a bit. We can hardly taste the water in our glass!
But seriously, according to Alan Watt, they are implementing smart metering in Canada with the electric meters.

Analog meters will always be better than signaled meters, it will take your country to figure that out, WIFI signals can be intercepted more than direct Analog. in fact, with WIFI the signals can be hacked from a greater distance.
I don't understand the mind set of a country that would introduce WIFI as a signal source for meters knowing the crooks that are out there, some are just trying to give their family comfort in a time of unwarranted black out but some are just blatant criminals.
You should be able to block the signals by putting a faraday cage over it.
I'm reminded of the closing scene from "escape from LA"...
he enters a code and shuts down the world.
