Title: Hey everyone, need advice on magnet and electronics purchases
Post by: falinx on March 16, 2010, 04:47:34 PM
Hey everybody,

just starting down the big scary path of magnet motors :) Wondering if there might be a type of kit I can purchase? Went looking on line and there isn't really a proper like set of resistors capacitors etc in one kit. And truthfully I'm not 100% certain on what to buy. I do know this, there are 2 generators, as such, that I am going to create. The 2Sgen and the bedinini/newman hybrid. Don't know if this is the correct forum for this question but I went through the topics and I can't see anything more fitting. So any advice on a set I could purchase to at least cover the basic requirements? Obviously I will need to purchase the more special pieces seperately.

@falinx

Link to Try:

http://www.jameco.com/

click on: "passive components" then "assortments". Avoid
the grab-bags for first purchases. Though they may be useful
for resupply.

Magnets are a different deal. IST once showed a post of all
the different magnetic modes that one could have. So it's
somewhat dependent on what you are trying for. Various
posts contain specialised magnet suppliers. Radioshack has
a popular large neo-magnet.

tnx very much for the info guys, will have a look into it, however magnetman12003 those magnets are too big. I have some neodymium ones I ripped from an old broken hard drive which should help me get my basic project going.
