Hi.

I am still a noob and i have googled this but can't find the answer ...

Which is more efficient in an electric generator :

a) Rotating coils with static magnets.
b) Rotating magnets with static coils.

There's no basic difference. Only applied work matters.
The generator design itself by core material, rotormass, dullness, winding technique makes it good or bad.

[/quote]Definitely B. When you have no sliding contacts/brushless the efficiency is better. In alternative A it will be a great loss in the brushes needed to harness the energy from the generator.

Actually it depends on how you make your designs, but it is more efficient if you include some tail on coils.
