I've seen it in Oklahoma, where I used to live. Arsenic is a historically famous ancient poison. It's like chemotherapy: The cure is as bad as the disease.

In Bangladesh they have a problem when drilled wells allow oxygen into
below ground layers containing arsenic, the arsenic compounds suddenly
becomes soluble in water! Cancer is one of the long term problems in
people consumming large amounts of Arsenic. So it is definitely not
a cure-all - it is more like chemotherapy.

Cancer loses up to 80% of the patient's total DNA coding. Unfortunately the
part of it that it loses contains the DNA damage correction mechanism! So DNA
disruption from things like chemicals, heat and radiation operate slightly more
effectively against cancer cells than normal cells. But having ones immune
