the knee-jerk response by mainstream scientists is "that violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics" (or first). The proper response IF the machine or process in question is NOT performing its work through heat transfer is:
"This machine does not work by heat transfer so why are you bringing up laws of THERMOdynamics?"
Entropy is q/T where q is heat and T is Kelvins. ALL laws of thermodynamics apply ONLY to engines that perform work through heat transfer.
Heat transfer <> Energy.
That mistake has been taught in schools for 100+ years.
