Title: Sad Breaking News! Otto has died.
Post by: bolt on September 14, 2010, 10:31:02 AM
I have received a credible information to report that our friend and Open Source engineer Otto has died!  This is a great loss to all of us and his determination to get the TPU working to the best of his ability was remarkable and flawless. My condolence go to his family.

Here is the information i received.

"Hi all

I have to share sad news. My friend Otto, some of you know him from replicating
the TPU, has deceased on Sunday and his funeral will be held tomorrow in Zagreb,
Croatia.

He was a heavy smoker, which obviously is the cause of his heart attack. The
ambulance came too late to help him. I seriouly doubt somebody had an influence
on his death, although it was my first though.

Maybe someone wants to lit a candle in memory of him.

Regards,
Shad

This world needs more men like Otto,He was truly an inspiration and an example of what we should all aspire to be!
A real Man,who wanted to leave this world a better place than when he found it.

I will surely miss him and hope to shake his hand some day !
My prayers will be for his family, going through this hard time!

I only knew him as being a knowledgeable poster on the TPU threads, which I haven't even looked at for a long time.  But even so, yes, if true, it's sad news.

Thinking back, I remember his enthusiasm for experimenting and his desire for knowledge.  I remember too he didn't take any shit from pretenders or wannabe's either, but was willing to share his knowledge with genuine researchers like himself.  I may have that wrong, but that's how I remember it.  I think it's definitely true to say though he was a respected member of, and valuable contributer to, these forums.

I personally like to think that maybe he's found now some of the answers he was looking for in his research.  Maybe he's laughing now.  All the best to him and his family and friends.

Does anybody know how old Otto was (approximately)?

For a Tribute to Otto, I searched & found an old 2007 post by Otto:

He was definitely the master of effect with simple builds. I am proud to have built one of his ECDs following his and Roberto's work.

God bless his soul.

Very sorry to here about Otto.  We had not had a lot of interaction, but I respected what he had to offer in any post.
It was good that someone else knew him more on a personal level, otherwise how would we all know. Some of us could just not show up here for some time and no one would be the wiser.
So from all that, maybe we all could try and dissolve any issues some may have with others here, and make friends with others that we havnt made yet.
I wish I knew Otto more than I have, but now I cant.

Best wishes to all

Magluvin

I can't say anything because I can't stop crying.
This has to be a really bad joke.
I don't believe it. This can't be true.
Where is the funeral home located?
I want to call them myself.
If this is sadly true we have to send flowers.

I am always saddened to hear of one of our fellow experimenters passing.  A lot of us live alone and no one would know the reason we never posted here again unless someone passes on the news.

My prayers are with his family at this difficult time.  He will be missed.  Do not be sad because now he knows all of the things we were attempting to discover, all of the secrets of the universe are now known to him.

Rest in peace Otto.

Hi.

I heard that my fathers friend published the saddest news I have recived in my life.
My fathers passing away was and still is a big shock. He was 56 years old, and I think it was not his time to go.
He was a great man, a loving father and husband, he will be deeply missed...
I will always remember him as the smartest man I ever knew, he was very intelligent and he had a children's curiosity. There was nothing that he could not do.
I loved him very much. This few days have been the hardest time in my life. But I will try to be strong like he allways was, and so will the rest of my familly. We have to be strong...
He was buried today...

I just wanted to thank everyone for you're kind words and support.

Petra

@Petra

Your confirmation was what I needed to now realize this is true. I am so sorry for your loss and feel for you and your family with the greatest of sadness.

No it was not his time and he had so much more to do, learn and discover. Luckily @otto left us many pieces and he will not be forgotten. I am still crying because he was one of the members here that had only to say a few words and I knew exactly what he was saying.

Your father was known here by his own identifier "The Little Man from a Little Country". But his heart for overunity research was bigger then the sun and his quiet patience and soft spoken demeanor earned the respect of all here.

I will miss him. The thought of his departure is hard enough, then add this to the thought of losing all his work and his level of advancement in his studies is so hard to bare and very difficult for me to even consider.

I thank you for your strength in coming on the forum on this very difficult day. I tried to find the funeral home to send flowers but could not find any more information to act in time. I am very sorry for that. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. Your father would be proud of you for coming on the forum and I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

I am shocked and saddened by this news and cried for this men I never met in person but knew quite well on this forum.

otto was here with us from the beginning of the effort to rediscover and re-engineer the TPU device and is an icon to many.  With such a unique user-name as "otto" you knew he was special.   We had many conversations through email and personal messages, and even though we agreed and disagreed on many technical points, I considered him a friend and always let him know I appreciated his work.  He knew quite well that I didn't think the ECD was a full replication of the TPU, but we were still friends.

On Friday I sent otto a message and he replied right back and I'm so glad I asked how he was doing and assured him that his work is valuable and he is appreciated, little did I know that would be the last message from him.

Petra,

thank you so much for coming here and confirming this sad news, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  May he rest in peace!

Sincerely,

EM

P.S.  Here is an email chain between me and otto a few month ago after I got back from a trip to Greece.   I love his meekness and humbleness when he says we are "little people from little country" He seemed so full of life.

Hello EM,

yes, JFETs are something special. They can work in a negative resistance " region" and thats what I want. Espacially complementary P/N pairs of JFETs are something really special. Its just my feeling, after I have blown a lot of BF transistors, all my IRF MOSFETs.....this SS are the key to a TPU. Of course I dont want tubes because if they would work there would still be the problem to "translate" the tubes to SS.

Im now driving my MOSFETs with a classical MOSFET driver but without to connect a minus to the sources of my MOSFETs. Nice light but this works  only with a battery as power supply. Hmmmm, it seems that we have a lot to learn about transistors, MOSFETs, JFETs....

Hi Otto,   I'm sorry you can't find parts very easily.  I ususaly use DigiKey and have them ship to me here in the US.  I can understand the frustration!  I was playing with some JFETs a while ago, I bought one from Radio Shack,   they can be used to detect electric fields by just conecting a wire to the gate, that's how well the gate is isolated so the little bit of charge doesn't leak away.  I was quite impressed.

        Hello EM,

your posts are also veeeeery good.

If you want to travel to my country dont go to Dubrovnik like the most people do. OK, its a nice town but .....you have to see little cities on the coast, little people and their big heart! To say it in this way. But dont drink the very clean sea water, its salty, ha,ha. Yes, the sea here is so clean, the food is fantastic, the people kind and a little bit crazy like me...

No, EM, Im only a little man, not worth to mention. The "big guys" here have already a HHO system that feeds itself and powers a car engine, a lot of people have made fantastic inventions but we all dont know how to earn money. Thats the problem of the most inventors in my country. And trust me, we have a lot people working on various devices.

I have a big problem with my TPU research:

Its now clear that we need P channel and N channel JFETs to drive the big MOSFETs. There is NO other solution.

But where to buy such JFETs? Im the last 3 weeks surching for them but no luck: They should be complementary and if possible made like a IC. Maybe you know where to find them? Or seperated N and P channel JFETs but komplementary.
I was looking at Farnell, Digi key.....my God, they cost a few cents and I dont know where to find them to finally finnish my TPU. Any ideas?

I was a little bit surprised when you wrote at OU that we dont have relevant informations.......a few minutes earlier I have posted some very relevant informations. At overunityresearch. As so often, no reaction from the members.

Greece? Nice country but you should see my country, Croatia, then you would be very surprised how nice a country can be. The Adriatic coast - very clean. No, its not because its my country, Im wrighting this because millions of tourists from all over the world are "discovering" what real clean nature is.

Hello again.

Although still in shock, I'm reading my fathers posts and it's very interesting. His work here was very important to him. Anyway, going through his stuf gets me going, and his research was the "thing" he loved the most... So I'm going through that too.
I didn't know much about it. He explaint it too me a few years ago, but I did't understand much, I'm just a young girl with no knowledge in this field. I just know that he sad that we could have free energy, free light, free heet, that cars could run on water and not on gas...
His desk is full whit his work (I call it circles from wires) and papers - notes, documents and drawings.
I know I can't help you. But I'd like to make some sort of "closer" in regards of my fathers research and findings. I think he would want that.

So I have some questions:

Does anybody know where Roberto Notte is? Where did he disapear too?

Do you think that my fathers documents, notes and drawings and his "circles" could help you whit youre research?

We thought to keep it as a memory of my dad, but reading all of this makes me think that he wouldnt want it going to waste.

Yes, That is SUPER NICE of you to do that.  It would really help if you could post some pictures of his Wire Circles (TPUs) and Work Area.  If you have trouble posting any pictures you could email them to almost anyone of us and we could post them.

Thank you VERY MUCH for wanting to help us in our research Petra.

@Petra

I think @ronotte will be the best OU member to help you with saving @otto's work. But if there is anything that you need to ask, please either post it here or you can Private Mail (PM) the moderator @stefan. I am in Canada so I am far from there otherwise I would have been there many times visiting @otto. But if you need anything, please advise and I will try to help find a good organization that can help preserve his works. There may be someone in a nearby University that has interest is such research.

I know the next many days will be simply hard for you and your family as the reality sets in so please do not feel overly pressed with time. I suggest maybe taking many pictures of his lab from many angles and if you are planning to store his works, please try to use many boxes and place only those items that are close together in each box so as to know what was where from the photos. This would be the only main method to keeps things together with pictures as a reference or video. If there is a device he was working on last and was connected to instruments, it would be good to take pictures also of the instruments to show their last adjustments.

You father was working on an aspect of Overunity that involved a daring attempt to produce good output from very limited coil winds. He had succeeded to produce some very interesting results which does indicate that his line of research deserves further investigation. Keep strong and know we will never forget @otto.

HI Petra & all the family,

I AM SHOCKED, I still cannot believe that 'dear Otto' no more with us. We all in the forum are missing his factive presence. Yes an 'original' and true presence that contributed in the years with a long series of particular 'works' all subtly different from the standard view. In the time I have had the honour to participate with him for the ECD developping.

I will be pleased to store all his papers, catalogue them and make them available to the community in order to not loose the memory of his contribution. I will also take all the necessary expenses.

Petra, unfortunately I have lost your phone number...when I changed my cell phone...so please get in contact with me via email, I can be quickly reached at:

ronotte@alice.it

I have already sent you an email to Otto's standard email..that I hope still operational.

Please receive my condolences

Otto's Death  :(

Yes, I also have missed this sad news of Otto's passing and I just want to say, I knew of Otto although I didn't get involved in his field of work here on OU, I knew he was a "special" person of honour, people spoke of him in high esteem, and he will be missed by us all.

Otto was indeed a special inventor, in fact a genius, and no one can take that distinction from him.

Everyone at Overunity is with you Petra and with your family through this year.
Just cast your cares on "Him" for He careth for you.

I offer my condolences to you and all those who were close to him.
