Title: Ultra cap
Post by: Taylor1992 on September 16, 2010, 10:54:53 AM
Got it in the mail yesterday. ;D

Made a short video of it in action.

Any ideas as far as what to use it for?

They are not that good. They are pretty much garbage and useless.
You would be better off just sending it to me. :)

(it should run that joule thief for a long time)

It powered a Fuji CFL circuit for about an hour, but the high pitch noise finally got to me. And so, I've had it running that Joule Thief circuit for 24 hours, and it's only down to .8 volts from the 1.5 I charged it up to.

These capacitors really are amazing. So far as I can tell, the drop in voltage is pretty linear.

I will set up a 2.5 volt solar panel to keep it charged this weekend.
